At MITIE's inaugural Supplier Forum on Wednesday 9th March 2011, as part of its Diversity Week, select suppliers were asked to attend and participate in issues related to Sustainability and Supply Chain Diversity.
Camfil have been awarded the coveted OVERALL WINNER of the Carbon Reduction award. Camfil entered the Carbon Reduction category, which Romeo Effs, Group Supply Chain Manager at MITIE explained as: "Our impact in terms of carbon foot print is very important for us to both manage and reduce. We want to lead the way in carbon reduction programs: taking our staff, clients and supply chain along that journey is essential to doing this" Suppliers had to demonstrate their capabilities in the following areas:
- a sustainable approach to procurement, constantly taking in to account their environmental, social and economic effects
- Constantly providing value added services that help to control MITIE's total costs
- They are a responsible provider in terms of sustainability.
